I have junked the car two months ago, I will never forget this car It has brought me to hell and back, and brought me many fond memories. I was very hesitant to let it go, even with the transmission on its last legs.
Looks great, and much better than the huge rice burner I had on earlier. Noticibly quiter than my older muffler, and looks much cleaner.

And of course, I love taking pictures of my car.

Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1408634473281783817.post-48008414747122597202010-01-10T15:45:00.000-08:002010-01-24T22:14:49.201-08:00Fixed Rubbing problem, loweringThanks a lot for the comments. I managed to get rid of the rubbing, my front left tire was sticking out considerably and was rubbing on the right turns. It turns out the camber was horribly misaligned. My friend who owns Kindred Motorsports was able to help me adjust the camber to 0 on the front two wheels. Now the rubbing is mainly gone, except for when I turn the steering completely to the left or the right. But, for the most part the rubbing is almost gone, with the 195/60/14 tires there not much I can do at this point, but I'm satisfied. My rear two tires still have to be replaced before I push the car on the corners and the mountains.

One thing that has always bothered me was the ride height on a stock AE82 seems excessively high, especially with the 13" wheels that the car comes equipped with. Ever since lowering my AE82, I feel a noticible improvement in handling and definately looks better in my opinion.

Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1408634473281783817.post-57281550262340711632010-01-06T12:43:00.000-08:002010-01-06T12:45:20.130-08:00New MufflerI'm finally getting rid of the huge exhaust.

In exchange for a dual tip, my current muffler is just way too loud. Not to mention, it attracts too much unwanted attention. The new muffler which I will be receiving soon is from MRC, and is only 30-35% louder than stock muffler. Also the look is almost more clean. Can't wait.Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1408634473281783817.post-38226352056145033482010-01-03T17:56:00.000-08:002010-01-03T18:21:50.220-08:00Breakin it inI took the car out for a spin, since the Weber and the MSD ignition system is still new. I'm in the process of breaking them in, however there is white exhaust gases coming from the muffler. This indicates a lean mixture, however @ 3000+ RPM a slight black smoke appears, the engine happily screams up to 6000 RPM. With the tuning to the Weber and the vaccumm advance hooked up I can now go WOT and the car responds very well.
Current tire size is 195-60-14, however there is minor rubbing due to the lowered ride height in my car. I will be switching to 195-55-14 soon, however that will fix the rubbing issues in my car.

Enjoy the pics! And happy new years to everyone.
The front lip came off a 1987 Cressida and as you can see in the pictures the lip bolts right on. However, the lip itself is a bit long therefore you will have to cut the end, in addition you will have to drill holes at the bottom of your bumper which is not visible once you bolt it on.

First thing you need is paint, you can get Rustoleum spray cans. They come in flat black as well as glossy black. If your short on cash, you can go to home depot and buy Quick Color Glossy Black for $1 each. Spray the rims, make sure you spray the rims with some distance that way the paint will be distributed evenly. Give the rims a couple coats, and finish it off with clear coat. Now give yourself a pat in the back, your done!

Only two wires to wire up, I wired the black wire (ground) to the chassis. The white wire is the power source, I wired it to the one of the fuses in the fuse box, I personally wired mine to the cig. lighter fuse so whenever the key is turned on to the on position, the fog lights would turn on.
This is because with the stock wires, they will not hold enough electricity not hold as much electricity. The Magnecor Spark Plug wires are thicker and thus hold more electricity without leakage this is especially important since the MSD Blaster 2 Coil produces a much more powerful spark, a high quality spark wire with a thicker diameter is especially important to maximize the performance gain from the Ignition Upgrade.Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1408634473281783817.post-86925199163829933102009-12-29T10:57:00.000-08:002009-12-29T11:09:35.305-08:00Weber Carb 38
I also have a Weber 38/38 installed in my car, for those of you who are unfamiliar with a Weber Carburetion. Weber manufactures high performance aftermarket carburetors for many vehicles. Including those equipped with a 4AC engine such as mine and AE86 SR5's. The stock Carburetor that comes with my vehicle is very restrictive, hence sapping my car from reaching its fuel potential.
Since upgrading to a Weber Carb, throttle response has improved substantially. This is because I have chose a Weber 38 over the Weber 32/36 which is typically a more common upgrade when it comes to the 4AC engine.
I chose the Weber 38 first of all because of the bigger jets, which allow more fuel and air into my engine. In addition the biggest difference between the Weber 38 and the smaller Weber 32/36 is the fact that the Weber 38 is a Synchronized Carb which means both barrels open simultaneously, giving instant throttle response.
Where as the Weber 32/36 is a progressive carburetor, in which one barrel opens at part throttle and both barrels open at fuel throttle. Essentially the Weber 32/36 is aimed at economy which still giving better performance than stock, while the Weber 38 is geared towards all out performance.Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1408634473281783817.post-9381340924246492582009-12-29T00:26:00.000-08:002009-12-29T00:30:25.828-08:00Interior Work<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 233px;" src="http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj396/evolutiongts/IMAG0060.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420220319903442482" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 233px;" src="http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj396/evolutiongts/IMAG0059.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420220319903442482" />

Added a Type R Tachometer, since the car itself does not come with a tach. The new tach I've added is very responsive, and being 5" it looks and feels great!

A Grant GT wheel has also been thrown in, replacing the old stock steering wheel which was heavy as hell.

RS-i shift knob also replaces the stock shifter, now I can shift my car manually and freely.

New stereo system, Phillips also installed, giving me a much better audio system.

JDM metal pedals installed as wheel.Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1408634473281783817.post-23945263562332915102009-12-28T01:34:00.000-08:002009-12-28T01:51:23.695-08:00<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 233px;" src="http://i553.photobucket.com/albums/jj396/evolutiongts/IMAG0005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420220319903442482" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe2TEAS8Jl-sKQGcg5uDJ6f1Lhi6kMLQpVSLgbKDr7-EZzv6XHP2uyohK32YQKLM8TyJs5HHz9AhW78Z6-H64DtCepXb2sRQLVzeGMv1K5z2Fc3pZOmuGOpv9RBYdONd1KEXZ-jBcXz2-F/s320/IMAG0002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420220312443377474" />
The car was very clean when I first received it. This is a blog about my on going project car the AE82 Sedan. It is powered by a SOHC 1.6L Carb Engine. Yes, its a 4AC engine, and I really love it because for such a small engine, it actually puts out a decent amount of power. I've had the car for about two new cars now, and it is actually my first car.
My dad first brought the car in 1987 for $10000, a bit before I was ever born. The car was purchased brand new, it has a 3-speed automatic transmission, which is quite reliable although I would liked it to have been a manual tranny.
My dad actually brought the car when he was going out with my mom, my dad would often joke around that if he haven't brought the car, my mom wouldn't have married him. When I was little my dad would tell me "Son, one day this car would be yours." And it turns out that this prophecy actually came true!

This is my car in all stock form, except for fog lights.Alanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02257674153278473237noreply@blogger.com0
